2022 Rural Water Rally

News,

A delegation from the Kentucky Rural Water Association (KRWA) attended the 2022 Rural Water Rally in Washington D.C. on March 28 – 30.  The purpose of the trip was to visit with Kentucky’s Congressional delegation, promote Rural Water’s FY 23 legislative agenda and to thank each for their continuing support of Rural water programs and issues.  Our greatest tool is sharing the ways that Rural Water assists small utilities in the effort to supply their communities with clean, safe, affordable water.  These stories are proof that Rural Water operates effective programs that can reach every utility, from cities to the smallest and most rural community.

KRWA representatives had successful personal visits with Chairman Hal Rogers, Congressman James Comer, Congressman Brett Guthrie, Congressman Thomas Massie, Congressman Andy Barr, Senator Rand Paul and Senate Leader Mitch McConnell.  Kentucky continues to be blessed with Congressional leaders that understand the important role of water and wastewater utilities in promoting public health, economic development, job creation and enhancing the overall well-being of Kentucky communities.

Those attending from Kentucky were KRWA Board members Russ Rose—Oldham County Water District, John Dix—Butler, Simpson and Warren Water, David Peterson—Caveland Environmental Authority, William Ballard—East Clark County Water District, and Daren Thompson—Lebanon Water Works. Also in attendance was Scott Young—Glasgow Water Company and Gary Larimore—KRWA.
