Budget Session Hits Midpoint with First Bill Signed into Law

Week 7 of the 2026 Legislative Session
Having finally reached the halfway point of the 60-day Budget Session, there have been a total of 899 bills filed between both chambers; 687 House and 212 Senate bills. For reference, by the end of the 30-day session in 2025 there were a total of 1,080 bills filed; 814 House and 266 Senate bills. Also, by the end of the last budget session in 2024 there were a total of 1,218 bills filed; 838 House and 380 Senate bills.
