Louisville, Kentucky – August 30, 2023 – The exquisite taste and quality of Green River Valley District's water were celebrated on August 30, 2023, at the 44th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Kentucky Rural Water Association (KRWA), held at The Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. Over 850 utility professionals gathered to "Take It To The Next Level," Green River Valley District emerged as the proud recipient of the prestigious Best Tasting Water Award.

This annual event served as a dynamic platform for attendees to gain invaluable insights from industry experts while creating connections with peers in the field. Against this backdrop of knowledge-sharing and networking, Green River Valley District's water secured its place as a true standout.

A notable panel of judges, representing different sectors of the water and wastewater industry, including Susan Poe, Wastewater Program Manager at the National Rural Water Association; Steve Gott, Owner at S&K Equipment Company; David Billings, Kentucky Operations Leader at Cannon & Cannon, Inc; Emily Meisner, Account Manager at Layne-A Granite Company; and Corey Harper, Technical Applications Manager at Hawkins Water Treatment Group, undertook the task of evaluating entries from water districts, water associations, and municipal utilities across Kentucky. After much evaluation, Green River Valley Water District emerged as the victor.

Kentucky now has a great chance of winning at the National Best Tasting Water Contest, scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., during the 2023 Rural Water Rally in February. The Rally, an annual legislative event for state affiliates of the National Rural Water Association, stands as a testament to the industry's dedication to excellence. The competition is part of the Quality on Tap! campaign -- emphasizing the high quality, great value, and exceptional taste of America’s public drinking water.
