Position Summary
Kentucky Rural Water Association is seeking a GIS Specialist to support mapping, spatial analysis,
and data management efforts using Esri’s ArcGIS Online platform. This position plays a key role in
maintaining GIS data, developing web maps and dashboards, and supporting decision-making for
infrastructure, planning, and emergency response activities for our public utility members.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and analyze GIS datasets using ArcGIS Pro Online
• Create and manage ArcGIS Online web maps, apps, and dashboards to support workflows and asset
management
• Maintain geodatabases and ensure data quality and accuracy
• Produce maps and visual products for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with utility staff across departments to support GIS needs and provide
training
• Assist with GPS receiver data collection workflows using mobile GIS applications with Field Maps
and Survey123
Minimum Qualifications:
• 2–3 years of professional GIS experience
• Strong working knowledge with ArcGIS Pro Online and web map creation
• Experience with spatial data editing, analysis
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to work in a small-team environment
• Able to speak in front of small groups and turn your knowledge into training
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting utilities, infrastructure, or public works
• Experience with Python/ArcPy or Arcade (helpful but not required)
• Familiarity with ESRI Experience Builder or Instant App (helpful but not required)
