City of McKee Administrative Assistant
The City of McKee is accepting applications for an administrative assistant.
The Administrative Assistant’s primary responsibility is to provide day-to-day support to the department in which they are employed. They may also be required to provide occasional assistance to other departments. This position will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include assisting other supervisors and employees, serving customers, and assisting in daily office needs.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Primary support for an individual or all department staff, providing excellent customer service, answer phones; screen and route calls to appropriate personnel, compose and type correspondence and various documents with speed and accuracy, receive, sort, and distribute mail and inter-office correspondence for the entire office, research, collect, and retain information as requested, operate and maintain all office equipment including, but not limited to, fax machines and copiers, proper data entry of accounts receivables and/or payables if applicable, collect tax bills, water bills, and other payments to the City, assist customers, maintain customer files, assist other office personnel as requested, be extremely accurate in all work, and must maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Certifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Valid Kentucky Driver’s license
Demonstrable proficiency in computer programs utilized by the office.
Must be bondable
General knowledge of office practices and procedures
Shift 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Friday
Starting salary: Base pay is $12.00 per hour, but may be negotiable based on skills and experience
