2026 Session Begins!

The Kentucky General Assembly entered the holiday weekend with nine legislative days under its belt, and much table setting left to do before the session truly takes shape. Friday featured the first floor vote of the young session, and unlike last week, many committees met to vet largely non-controversial bills. The much-anticipated House budget package has not yet been released, although the House Speaker filed legislative and judicial branch budget bills shortly before adjournment Friday.
