Dawson Springs Water & Sewer System is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Superintendent. Dawson Springs is located near Lake Beshear in western Kentucky and serves approximately 841 water and wastewater customers. Dawson Springs Water & Sewer System owns and operates a 2.88 million sand-anthracite gravity filter water treatment plant, and 360,000 gpd wastewater treatment plant and related infrastructure.
Summary of General Duties: Under administrative direction, the Superintendent manages and directs daily operations of the City's water and sewer system to comply with regulatory standards and maintain system reliability in an efficient and effective manner.
Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum high school diploma or GED. Preferred minimum of ten years of related on the job experience with six or more years of experience in a supervisory role. Preference will be given to a candidate with a Bachelor or Associate degree in a related field of study.
Certification/Licensing Requirements: Certified Kentucky Class IIIA or higher Water Treatment Plant Operator and a Class II or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or be able to obtain these certifications including distribution Class II.
