Glasgow Water Company Wins Best Tasting Water in Kentucky for Fourth Time

News,

Lexington, KYAugust 25, 2026 – At the 2026 Annual Conference & Exhibition, held at the Central Bank Center and Hyatt Regency Lexington, the title of “Best Tasting Water in Kentucky” was awarded to Glasgow Water Company during the association’s annual Member Appreciation Reception. The award recognizes the public water system with the best-tasting water in Kentucky through a statewide competition where utilities submit samples of their tap water for judging.

The Kentucky Rural Water Association (KRWA) is a statewide, nonprofit association that provides training, on-site technical assistance, advocacy, and other services to water and wastewater utilities across Kentucky. KRWA represents approximately 360 utilities and serves over 98% of Kentucky’s public drinking water and wastewater customers. With offices in Bowling Green and Frankfort, KRWA has been fulfilling its mission of helping water and wastewater utilities help themselves since 1979. KRWA has hosted the Best Tasting Water Competition for more than 20 years, highlighting the high quality and exceptional taste of Kentucky’s public drinking water.

Utilities from across Kentucky submit samples of their drinking water, which are then judged by a panel based on taste, clarity, and aroma. A distinguished panel of judges, including Jason Shelton (Hawkins, Inc.), Mark Hogg (WaterStep), Aaron Wesley (Raymond James), Susan Lancho (Kentucky American Water), and Bobby Young (Hach), evaluated 15 entries from across the state. Glasgow Water Company stood out for delivering high-quality water with exceptional taste.

Joe Watson, General Manager at Glasgow Water Company, said, “We’re honored to receive this recognition for the fourth time. Our team takes great pride in providing safe, clean, and great-tasting water to our community, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see those efforts recognized again at the statewide level.”

The 2026 Annual Conference brought together more than 1,000 people for educational sessions, networking opportunities, and Kentucky’s largest exhibition of products and services for public utilities. Winning the Best Tasting Water honor is especially meaningful for Glasgow Water Company, which will now represent Kentucky at the 2027 Great American Water Taste Test during the National Rural Water Association’s Rural Water Rally in Washington, D.C., in February.
