The City of Campton is currently accepting applications for the position of Water Plant Superintendent.

The City of Campton has an opening for a full-time Water Plant Superintendent. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration, operation, and maintenance of the water treatment plant to ensure that operations comply with established procedures and standards, federal, state and local laws, and administrative regulations. 

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 7 years combined experience in drinking water treatment and/or maintenance and must have possessed and maintained a Class Ill-A or higher license for at least 5 years. A Class II or higher distribution license in addition to an Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Applied Science or related field is preferred.

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong process control skills with a preventative maintenance mindset. Ability to quantify operational data registered on meters and SCADA charts accurately and to maintain records of shift operations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and associates. 

Physical criteria include 

  • The ability to lift 50 pounds
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous
  • The ability to safely climb ladders.
  • The ability to work in extreme

The starting salary for the position is $37,440 - $52,000 ($18.00-$25.00/hour) plus an excellent benefits package including Health insurance and membership in the Kentucky Retirement System. All applicants must be able to successfully complete drug screening and background investigation.
