2022 NADO Impact Award

Green River Area Development District received a 2022 Aliceann Wohlbruck Impact Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) for their successful implementation of the Hire to Operate (H2O) Apprenticeship Program.  The H2O Program is a collaboration between GRADD, Kentucky Rural Water Association, and other state and local partners to address the shortage of certified water and wastewater operators in western Kentucky.  KRWA appreciates GRADD's partnership for the Hire 2 Operate initiative to utilize Registered Apprenticeship to hire, train, and retain the next generation of the Water Workforce in the GRADD region. Through this collaboration, 2 Registered Apprentices have already passed their state licensing exams and 6 more are working towards certification!  GRADD was recognized for this prestigious award at the 2022 NADO Annual Training Conference in Pittsburgh, PA.
