Water Infrastructure Protection and Threat Workshop

The FBI’s WMD Countermeasure Unit II, Infrastructure Protection Team, in collaboration with the EPA, has developed and will host two regional Water Infrastructure Protection and Threat Workshops.  The first Workshop will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, February 17th and 18th and be hosted at the FBI’s regional field office.

The Workshops will further develop the investigative, intelligence and coordination efforts currently underway by FBI JTTFs in local field offices by allowing federal, state, and local law enforcement the opportunity to interact and cross-train on topics of basic water security awareness with their counterparts at the EPA and relevant water industry security professionals.  The Workshops will provide fundamental WMD response protocols to an attack on the national water systems, investigative techniques, case studies, and guest speakers.  In addition, the Workshops will provide detailed information relating to current WMD issues, current USG CT/WMD policy, and interagency liaison issues.
