Monroe County is located in south-central Kentucky situated on the Cumberland River with beautiful scenery and great hunting and fishing; just minutes away from Dale Hollow Lake and Barren River Lake.
Monroe County Water District is seeking an experienced Water Treatment Plant Operator. The District’s water system service area serves Monroe County and portions of Barren, Cumberland, and Metcalfe counties in Kentucky and parts of Clay and Macon counties of Tennessee.
The successful candidate will be in responsible charge of the daily operation and maintenance of the newly constructed 2.0 MGD water plant, including start-up and/or shut down of the plant and equipment.

Minimum Job Qualifications
Candidates must be a high school graduate or equivalent and possess a minimum Class III-A Kentucky Division of Water Treatment Plant Operators License. Three (3) years of acceptable operation of a water treatment plant with One (1) year of that experience in a Class IIA, IIIA or IVA water treatment plant shall be required.
Candidates must also possess and maintain a valid Kentucky driver’s license. This position may require working days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be able to respond to calls in emergency situations at all hours.
