The SHELBYVILLE MUNICIPAL WATER AND SEWER COMMISSION is seeking an employee as described below:
WATER TREATMENT PLANT CERTIFIED OPERATOR
This position will require an applicant that has been certified as a Class 3 or 4 by the Kentucky Division of Water, for Water Treatment Plant Operations. This position requires duties that are performed indoors and outdoors, and at times, including grounds keeping and janitorial duties, as well as minor maintenance tasks. This position also requires heavy lifting and, from time to time, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions.
PAY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION IS $17.00-$21.00/ HOUR based on qualifications.
At a later date this position will require independent rotating shift work typically 4-10 hour days, including some week-ends and late evening shifts.
Other duties are described below, but the position is not limited to these descriptions.
- Perform and evaluate routine process control test.
- Perform maintenance and inspection of pumps and valves.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by the supervisor
- Meter Reading
The person hired shall be willing to work in a disciplined work environment; follow commission safety rules, state regulations, and follow operating procedures.
The selected person must pass a pre-employment physical, including drug screening, and a background check.
