Kentucky American Water is seeking a team-orientated individual to fill the position of Treatment Plant Operator-Relief in our Production Department in Lexington, KY.  The position requires that the individual operate pumping and treatment equipment, handle chemicals and set chemical feed equipment at the proper dosage.  The individual shall also perform quality sampling and analysis, while adjusting plant flow rates to meet system demands.  The individual is also responsible for backwashing filters, record hourly readings, maintain plant cleanliness and perform minor plant maintenance.

The individual must possess a Class IV Water Operator’s license and preference will be given for individuals who also hold a Class II Wastewater license.  The individual must also maintain a Kentucky state driver’s license and be able to operate motor vehicles.

The minimum educational requirements are a high school diploma or recognized education equivalency certificate.  An associate or bachelor degree is a plus.  We offer a competitive hourly wage rate and benefits that that include: group medical/dental insurance, 401 (k), and educational assistance program.
