The Utility Management Institute’s course on Finance & Administration was held April 27-28, at Rough River State Resort Park. KRWA recognized two more graduates who have completed the six course program. Jeff Ray and Daryl Mulder, with Georgetown Municipal Water & Sewer, became the 239th and 240th graduates of the UMI.

The Kentucky Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network (KYWARN) has been activated due to the recent storms, flooding and the potential for multiple water and wastewater utility service disruptions. KYWARN allows water and wastewater utilities in Kentucky to receive rapid mutual aide and assistance from other utilities in Kentucky to restore facilities damaged by natural or man-made incidents.

For many cities and counties in Kentucky it is anything but calm as they begin the cleanup and recovery process following several destructive storms throughout the week. Governor Steve Beshear said damage from recent storms currently exceeds $34 million. Beshear declared a state-wide emergency on Monday and 38 counties and 17 cites have issued their own emergency proclamations. Kentucky Emergency Management (KYEM) has activated the Commonwealth Emergency Operations Center (CEOC) at Level III. Additional personnel from KYEM and Kentucky National Guard (KyNG) are now on CEOC duty monitoring the situation …
